About Poison-type Pokémon
Poison is a type that rarely appears alone: only 19% of its 83 Pokémon are pure Poison. It resists five types but ranks near the bottom for average base stat total. Its matchups have changed more than most. In Generation 1, Bug and Poison were super effective against each other; Generation 2 removed both. Generation 6 then gave Poison a new target, since Poison moves are super effective against the Fairy type introduced that year.
The generator above draws only from Pokémon with Poison as one of their types, dual types included.

Poison-type Pokémon by the numbers
Of the 83 Poison-type Pokémon, 16 are pure Poison and 67 have a second type. The most common pairing is Poison/Grass (14 Pokémon), followed by Bug (12) and Water (6). 5 of them are legendary or mythical, including Eternatus, Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti and 1 more.
By base stat total, the strongest Poison-type Pokémon that isn't legendary or mythical is Nihilego (570); counting legendaries, it's Eternatus (690). The fastest is Crobat, with a base Speed of 130. The heaviest is Eternatus at 950 kg, and the lightest is Haunter at 0.1 kg. Among pure Poison types, the highest base stat totals belong to Muk (500), Weezing (490), Garbodor (474), Swalot (467) and Seviper (458). One starter is Poison types: Bulbasaur.
Generation 1 introduced the most Poison-type Pokémon, 33. Counts use each Pokémon's current typing, so a species that gained or changed a type in a later game is counted under its present types.

Poison moves on offense
Poison-type moves are super effective against Grass and Fairy, not very effective against Poison, Ground, Rock and Ghost, and have no effect at all on Steel.
What are Poison-type Pokémon weak to?
Poison has 2 weaknesses: Poison-type Pokémon take super-effective damage from Ground and Psychic moves, but resist Grass, Fighting, Poison, Bug and Fairy. For a dual type, the type calculator combines both types' matchups.
