Random Gen 1 Pokémon Generator

Which Pokémon count as Gen 1?

Gen 1 covers the 151 Pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Red, Blue & Yellow — National Pokédex #1 (Bulbasaur) to #151 (Mew), all originally discovered in the Kanto region. Regional forms of older Pokémon aren't counted; only brand-new species are.

About Generation 1

Generation 1 is where it started: Pokémon Red and Green launched in Japan in 1996, followed by Red, Blue, and Yellow around the world. Its Kanto region is modeled on the real Kanto area of Japan around Tokyo. The first games had 15 types, no Dark, Steel, or Fairy, and a type chart with famous quirks, such as Ghost moves having no effect on Psychic types. These 151 Pokémon are still the ones most players can name on sight.

Generation 1 introduced the Kanto region with Pokémon Red, Blue & Yellow. Its starter trio is Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, and its headline legendaries are Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo. Every one of the 151species above is in this generator's pool — starters, legendaries, and everything between.

The random Pokémon generator for Gen 1 draws from 151 species, the second-largest. Their most common types are Poison (33), Water (32) and Normal (22), and 44% of them have two types, the lowest share of the nine generations.

5 are legendary or mythical (3%), the lowest share of the nine generations. The average base stat total is 408, the third-lowest. The strongest Gen 1 Pokémon that isn't legendary or mythical is Dragonite (600), the fastest is Electrode with a base Speed of 150, and the heaviest is Snorlax at 460 kg. Types are counted by each Pokémon's current typing.
